Transition

I’m so sorry to report that our beloved Satomi passed away at 3:00am this morning.

I was with her and held her hand.  She was in no pain.

I called her family, friends, and woke my Parents.  I haven’t woken up Kandice and Jillian yet.  We decided to wait until just before their normal wake-up time.  They aren’t going to school today.

It’s 4:30am now and the RN just left.  The mortuary is picking her up at 7:00am.

I’m sitting next to Satomi.  She looks so calm-Sleeping like she used to before all the head and neck pain.

I’m all screwed up-sad and confused-I feel like I have a hundred things to do today.  So much in my life is different now overnight.

I tried to imagine how this would feel so many times.  I hit the logistics right on, but the underlying emotions, the dull headache, and the concern for the girls is all unexpected.

Today is going to be a long day.

I can’t begin to express my heartfelt sympathy to you, the girls and the rest of your families…I can only hope that it somehow helps to know how much Satomi was in my heart and how I always hoped for a miracle for you all. You and the girls have a road ahead of you that should not have to be traveled, however, I have every faith that you will do well while doing so and that you will keep Satomi very much alive in their hearts, as well as your own. It truly was my pleasure to know Satomi and I am confident that she is resting peacefully. With love, Missy

    Oh, Sean.

I’m so sorry for you and your daughters. Satomi fought a good fight and your support for her was undeniably one of the most admirable things I’ve ever seen. If a guy was allowed to cry at his desk at work, this guy would be crying.

Lianne, Kara and I are sending you all our love.

Our hearts & condolences go out to you and your family. My personal “slide show” of memories that we all shared is going through my head and it is sad to think that she is gone. But at least she left us without pain and that’s all we could hope for.
