All Good Things…

by on March 31, 2011

…must come to an end.

But before it does, I wanted to share one last photo with you.  The photo that I’ve kept at my bedside for the last nine years and look at everyday.  It’s one of my favorites of Satomi and I together.

I’ve been searching for some profound words to say but I’m so tired.  You’ve been listening to me ramble on for years now so maybe keeping it simple will better make my point.

This journey has been long and at least in terms of this blog, I am sad to see it end.  I’ve come to rely on it to muster my strength and maintain my sanity.  It has taught me much about Satomi, our family and friends, people in general, but mostly about myself.  I can never express just how much it means for you to be here with us.  Thank you.  I couldn’t have made it so far without all of you.

Sean, thank you so much for this blog. It made me feel closer to Satomi and you, even though I’m so far away. If not for the blog, I would not have had the wonderful gift of spending a weekend with my neichan when she was still doing well. I will always cherish those moments. And thank you for posting the video, program, and eulogies from the service. I was so sad to not be able to go, and at least this way, I could still share the experience with everyone. You have done such a wonderful job with everything, Sean… thank you!

Sean, Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this blog, but more importantly a part of your beautiful family’s lives! This blog has helped me to know you and Satomi so much better and realize why your girls are so amazing! I am so honored to be a part of their young lives and love them so! This blog has taught me so much too! It has helped Bob and I to appreciate our time together more. It has helped me to be more open with people and not let time pass before telling loved ones how very much they mean to me. It has helped me to be more supportive of my brother and sister-in-laws struggle with Huntington’s Disease. So I am sure turning this to a book will be even more helpful to all those who will read it. God bless you for being so open and candid. Satomi was such a wonderful lady and so brave and strong to let us all see her struggle. She could not have done it without your love and amazing support! You were a wonderful husband to her, Sean! Don’t you forget it! This blog may be ending, but the love and support will always be here! Take Care, my friend! You are blessing!

I wasn’t aware of your blog until just today, but wanted to let you know how much I think your kids will appreciate having this in future. Best of luck to you and we’re so sorry for your loss.
