I’ve noticed some signs of “minor” changes to Satomi’s higher brain functions-forgetfulness, confusion, and reasoning skills. It’s barely noticeable but it worries me.
This morning she dropped her medication on the floor. This was very dangerous as my sister’s babies are still visiting and have been eating things off of my floor for the last few days. After searching on my hands and knees, Satomi admitted that she didn’t remember if she actually swallowed the pills or not. I became quietly enraged but to be honest, I was scared and worried. How do you forget if you swallowed pills only a few minutes before? Apparently it’s quite easy. I did eventually find the dropped pill and all was secured.
Later I sent her a text message and asked her if she took her afternoon medication (i.e. Decadron). That evening I became aware that she interpreted my question as instructions not to take it at all. What? Why would I tell her not to take her medication? I was again quietly enraged.
I took charge of her medication box and will be watching closely.
Satomi’s posts are just so different than mine. Her positive attitude just oozes from between the missing punctuation and run-on sentences. I try to compose my posts with a sense of realism and emotion-as if you were there when things happened-but it usually comes across negative. It’s hard to imagine that the life she writes about is the same life that I write about.
Lying in bed – waiting to take a bath – girls still up watching TV in my bed -snuggling with me! My mom will help me with bath soon since girls bedtime! They will be going to Childtime for next few days since I have appt still, Sean needs to work and Sean’s mom needs to recup some more! Rae left for hotel this evening – will drive home in the middle of the night! Hopefully no traffic! Now, Sean’s Mom can take it easy! Tomorrow will be interesting -wonder how the palliative care nurse will be! Tomorrow last radiation (yay!) But hopefully dizziness goes away and some hearing comes back! Keep corresponding with dryerase board with my mom and Sean -frustrating!

Went downstairs earlier for breakfast/lunch – came back up around 12 to nap – just got up for snack! Soo dizzy, fatigued! Radiation really makes u tired! Tomorrow last dose so hopefully symptoms will start to subside! Need to get more energy! Want to watch TV but have to read closed captioning so get tired sooner! But I guess makes me work my brain a little! Will have some dinner soon then sleep! Can’t wait! Have a great evening!

Just came downstairs to eat some breakfast/lunch – still tired! Had melatonin last night – slept like a log! Sean said I got up last night to go pee and didn’t lose my balance – maybe so dark, just felt my way to bathroom! Don’t remember! Woke up about 10am and just down to eat! Easy day today! Rae family here – leaving tomorrow! Sad! Girls enjoying visit! Back to grindstone tomorrow! Girls going to Childtime for 3 days then New Years’!
